The black and white images were shot on film using tungsten lighting to explore how to effectively light subjects with minimal tonal contrast. The project focused on lighting dark subjects against dark backgrounds and light subjects against light backgrounds while maintaining clear visual separation. Though the backgrounds appear purely black or white, the subjects remain visually distinct through careful use of contrast and light placement.

The color film images were inspired by antique dollhouses and were designed to add a playful twist to a traditional studio setup. The goal was to apply lighting techniques commonly used in commercial product advertising to a more conceptual, fine art context. Shooting on color film introduced an added challenge, requiring precise control over tone, detail, and mood. Each image uses a different lighting technique, giving every shot its own distinct atmosphere and emotional feel.
